i downloaded HOMM3 yesterday and i wanted to make a custom map where i could use the cloak of the undead king. i just did a randomly generated map, dropped the artifact by my town and made the town a necropolis. the map wont show up in the list of scenarios in game. i can navigate to the folder using the file explorer and it is clearly there.

i tried another randomly generated map, changed nothing left it as "untiltled" and checked for it again, not there. then i tried overwriting another map "barbarian breakout" to be my map with the cloak of the undead king and now that map doesn't show up in the list.

again, all of these are there when i navigate to my maps in the file explorer. anyone know a solution to this?

I'm not at my PC to check, but issues of maps "not appearing" were actually a case of maps being sorted by expanion required. Cloak of Undead King is a Shadow Of Death Artifact. I think the game sorts it RoE first, then AB, then SoD. Or was there a filter button? Anyway, there should be an icon next to the maps showing which expansion is required. Make sure you have Shadow of Death maps showing, then check there.

well, this partially helped. i was aware of that, but when i sorted that way specifically (instead of looking for the name i had given it), i found 3 unnamed maps which were the different save locations. so the names are actually what are getting messed up.

Cool. Glad you found them.

So is the name something you set in the editor, and not the file name?
