After entering Helheim where you must run for light spot to light spot, I got the torch and defeated the enemies in the area where you see the symbol in blood on the ground. Silly me didn't see the symbol at first so I went to the underground part where you must go underwater and move for light spot to light spot again.
Sadly, I encountered a bug there where I walked too far on the right under water and go stuck in the wall. Without being able to move I died because of the darkness (not great but hey wall bugs can happen).

BUT when I got back to the room where I missed the symbol there now was a fence blocking my path to spot the symbol.

My question: Did I trigger an event with my death that now blocks my progress or am I missing something obvious? If this is not a bug, a hint would be appreciated.
