Just completed it. In 26 minutes. but really. i could do it in three minutes.
I have never been so disappointed with ending since SHOGO's boss which does nothing/boss whose feet you shoot.
I didn't even fire a single gun. just use spy to destroy the base! not to mention previous mission was shit too as with two spies i just destroyed their armada single handily.
I was planing to use the wormhole beacon or whatever to launch a massive attack on their system, conquering planets slaughtering innocent subjects.
but no. one ship just blew up everything...
spies are overpowered in this game so they just should limit their importance in this mission...
for example: base has some superscanning abilities and spies cannot cloak in the system.
it would be much more fun than flying with spy ship and ending the mission.
And i cannot even replay it since there is some stupid timer so my plan of species genocide won't work either :(
Yeah, the last mission was definitely a let-down in terms of difficulty. The Darzoks don't really offer any kind of offensive until late in the mission (around 50 minutes in they finally sent a fleet of battleships after me, but by that point they were easily swatted down). Now, going with a full military assault instead of spies actually does present a bit of a challenge, as the system the base is in has pretty insane production capacity, and can crank out battleships almost as fast as a full fleet can destroy them. I had fully conquered all the other systems pretty easily, but then spent about 20 minutes in a slugging match with the last system, managing to only capture one planet in that time. Then I just sent in two spies and blew up the base. Very anticlimactic.
Yeah, this game is too easy throughout. All you have to do is fully research all missile systems and you can glide through it like PyramidHead's cock through a mannequin. The only person that was fun and challenging to fight was mohertep (or whatever the fuck his name is) when I decided to help him, and that was only because I waited far too long building up my planets in Eden and got into a war of attrition at the gate to Yarbo in Panola. Sat there for a long time building base after base and battleship after battleship. I finally restarted the mission and hit the ground running and utterly crushed them before they could even get started.
So, yeah, this game is not very well balanced.
