I have similar problem to the one described there and looking forward to urgent help :)
So... instead of turning autosave on game still starts from the beginning, at least in the story mode which I've played. Does the autosave work in this mode/in whole game only at some specific moment? I'm sure that it has worked but only once. Now game still always displays info about saving/loading data but the progress isn't saved...

Or, maybe I don't know how to load game properly? Is there any other way than entering story mode again?

The autosave feature should save your scores in arcade, missions completed, paths cleared in story mode, etc. Try saving the game before exiting manually. If that and autosaving doesn't work try to do a clean install. And if that doesn't solve it please report back.

Cleared paths - you said... Perhaps I don't understand how saving works in this game... Did you mean that in story mode progress will be saved only if I finish the entire path of particular character? And the same with arcade mode - points are saved only after defeating certain number of opponents? I can't find anything in the ranking connected with arcade mode... is that mode called normal mode? But still, there are no entries with my results. Do I have to achieve certain result in order to put my score there?

As yet I've noticed that only my completed missions are saved. And I've tried reinstalling the game - with no results. But, as I've said, maybe I don't understand the way the game works...

My advice would be: beat at least one character's story mode, exit the game, go to story mode again, and check whether now it says "Path 1/2/3 cleared" there. If not then the game isn't saving your data.

Hmmm... Sounds reasonable... Indeed, perhaps it's only way to check for sure whether everything is alright. It seems that I have to find some time to play :) Thanks for your help and advice.

The autosave (or the manual save, for that matter) don't save mid-story. The purpose of the save function is to save all accomplished progress, for instance, scores, cleared story paths, cleared missions, unlocked artworks, modes and characters.

From what I understand, you wish to save while in the middle of the story path for a certain character, leave the game and then resume the game from that point, am I correct? Well, that's not possible. You have to play through the whole story mode and only then will the autosave feature save whatever you accomplished (usually, unlocking a cool story mode ending picture, a new story mode path for a different character and eventually two new characters to play). You can't quit in the middle of a story path and resume it later from the point you left off, the save feature of GG X2 only saves when you completed a story path.

Take it from me, each story path (every character has 3 story paths, and when you unlock Justice he only has one story path) is relatively short, it should take you from 5 to 10 minutes to clear each story path, so don't worry with having to restart the story every time, because each path is really, really short.
