Greetings all.

I just got this game recently and I have to say I'm really enjoying it even though I am absolutely terrible at it right now.

So I was wondering what characters people like using the most?

I'm really enjoying Jam right now though I haven't really had much experience with the other characters.
Dc Faust is my favorite character.
That is a very, very tough question. GGX characters are so varied and interesting that it makes picking a favorite nigh impossible. It would be a lot easier to say who I didn't like which is I-NO which I think is a fairly uninteresting character. I guess Bridgett isn't the easies thing to take.

I do like Jam though she is slightly annoying to the ears. Sol is a great bad ass type character that is hard to go wrong with. So is Ky. Johnny's got a cool factor, and I'm a big Chip fan. I really want to like Slayer more because he is way cool but he isn't very combo heavy and ends up feeling a little off. I also really like Venom. Eddie and Testament are very interesting though I haven't played them much.
My favourite ( and pretty much the only I have played) is Bridgett, but I also like Faust and Potemkin. I have been trying to play Zappa a bit lately, but he's really hard to use.
My fav's are Slayer, Axl, Testament, Potemkin, Zappa, and Eddie.

My favourite characters to beat the crap out of are Ky, Chipp, Johnny, Baiken, and Robo-Ky. Oh how I hate Robo-Ky,
Eddie. He has great demonic animations and he is actually the spirit that inhabits the body and not a real person.
Very tough question. But, somehow, Venom is my favorite!

When using Zappa, remember calling a phantom has a GREAT deal of superiority. This means it will counter an attacking/advancing enemy. Hitting with it means 3 orbs. It's easily the fastest track to calling Raou. If you can hit a burst, you can hit Zappa's summon. And Zappa + Raou is quite simply the most terrifying opponent in the game. So fearsome is Raou, gold Zappa's perk is specifically infinite Raou. He doesn't needs another thing.

edit: sometimes it's beneficial to "waste" Zappa's tension. Using his hyper combo will remove all phantoms from his person, allowing him to use his summoning move. Again, more than any individual move his phantoms can do, the mere act of summoning is by far the best way of gathering orbs. Raou is better than tension, so don't hesitate to "waste" some to get rid of phantoms that linger too long.

Holy crap I played this game a lot xD

Faust. Faust, Faust, Faust.

And Venom & Bridget.
My favourites would be:

- Faust. Can't go wrong with 3 meter doctor equipped with PSI powers and giant scalpel. Also, his crazy specials (especially the "fishing" overdrive) and instant kills always crack me up.

- May. Quite basic but really fun character to play. You don't see anchor as a weapon too much in fighting games.
Also, she reminds me of Miyazakis Porco Rosso for some reason (sky pirates?). Not a bad thing at all.

- Slayer. Challenging character to play at first, but can deal loads of whoopass when used properly. Being classy, haiku loving vampire ain't that bad either.

- Potemkin. Properly done, heavy hitting tank character. Fun to play every now and then.

Characters I like, but haven't played much yet:
- Baiken
- Johnny
- Milia Rage
- Venom

I'm a big time slayer and potemkin player. a couple suggestions to your style, remember slayer has tons of priority moves sliding around using dandy step is a great way to bait out foolish attacks. time it out so that you keep sliding without ever attacking. When i play slayer, sliding and poofing around is my main form of movement. I almost never walk or jump except to pursue a stunned opponent.

Potemkin is EXTREMELY benefited by the games buffering engine. you can buffer an entire potemkin buster in even the shortest of block stuns. I'm constantly entering potemkin busters when I block, pressing punch/committing to it whenever it seems right. End result? Nearly nothing can go unpunished by a potemkin buster. For characters without projectiles, this is a complete nightmare.

Good job making it to level 340!
Thanks for the tips. Getting hang of the Slayers "phasing" takes some time, but is extremely good way to avoid attacks when mastered.

I actually got to level 380'ish on normal with Faust and to around 350 with May after playing and training some more. I play mainly for fun but reaching level 500 in survival with Faust is kinda goal of the game for me now. Faust just seems to have good combos and specials for my style of play, so I'll probably keep him as my preferred character.

I'm just nervous of the black robo Ky battle; Damn how I hate that character! I usually like robotic/cybernetic characters, but robo Ky is just plain annoying for some reasons.

Other character I've found very fun to play is Milia. Fast movement and good, powerful specials make her one of my favourite characters for sure. Just need to train with some more.

I sure wish i could play you =) you're the only other person on these forums who appears up to my skill level. getting to the golds is no small feat. I've done it, but I can't do it on command and I need to exploitative. You'll get there. Long before that though, you'll have surpassed probably every other player in finland! hahaha xD Cheers!
Baiken is my favourite.

I like her because she uses a sword and only has one arm. It's very much a fighters fighter, very cool. Most of her attacks I like too. It would have been great to choose different outfits though, instead of just colours. I don't like her outfit at all, but very cool character for me to relate to and play.

There are some characters I absolutely hate too. I never really "hated" characters in fighting games before, but this game seems to make me want to hurt some even more when I fight them.
I main Faust due to his unique playstyle and overall fun factor. I'm thinking of designating Bridget as my secondary, maybe try playing Chip a little).
