So apparently Drinkbox will be releasing an upgraded version of Guacamelee on XBox1, PS4, 360 and WiiU.

If you notice, there is no mention of this coming to PS3, VITA, or even PC - the original systems the Guacamelee was released on. They're claiming it's an attempt to get owners who haven't experienced the game to be able to enjoy it, but it actually seems like an attempt to get double dips and avoid discounts for previous owners. Kind of a slap in the face if you ask me.

They couldn't even release it as a simple dlc?

At least it has new enemies, areas, movies, and story line.....still not as worse as the yearly EA sports game releases.

They still could porbably bring it to pc at a much later date.

They should have made it a new game entirely, this type of update is the same thing that Capcom get's backlash for all the time (see Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen) yet people are lapping it up from this company.

They should have just called the game: Guacamelee: Double-Dip

From what I make of the comments, they don't plan to release it as DLC, because they want everyone to pay full price, again. And they know that people will backlash at the idea of buying the same content+ for the price of a full game a second time.

You can read the ridiculous comments from the team right here:

Ugh.

I still haven’t gotten over Renegade Kid stiffing GOG member’s on the Mutant Mudds update. . .

Thanks for the update. If it's coming to Steam there isn't any reason it shouldn't come here too! :)

I can back this up. According to a developer over on the Steam forums for the game, this is what their response to the possibility of GoG/Humble versions of the Super Turbo Championship Edition of the game was:

"Hey all,

Just FYI, we're testing/fixing the DRM free version of the game now, and talking to GoG and Humble about the possibility of having an "loyalty discount" for the game (as we did for Steam)"

You can find the quote here, after scrolling down the first page a bit:

Nice, and great news. Thanks.
What happened to the GOG version?
It’s here!

I was hoping for a temporary pricing break like Steam offered to owners of the earlier game, but a 10% discount is better than nothing and I’ll not lose sleep over ~$3.00.

They are offering a price break to owners of the earlier game. If you look at the game details of the Gold Edition on your shelf, there is a link to a one-time use URL that will allow you to buy the game for $4.99.
D'OH!

Too late now.
My question is why did the new edition not come to Mac/Linux also?
