Why isn't Carla's metal detector detecting the gold in Manny's body?

Did you drink just before you stepped through the big detector? After a while Manny burps up all the gold.

Yeah, I found that one rather odd as well. Even if you drink a few times to the point he remarks his body is holding enough metal or something along those lines, you still need to drink it right before passing through the detector for it to work.

Yeah it was confusing for me too because, the first time I drank he seemed to hold it a lot longer, but in the police station he burped really quickly...
