Grim Fandango is actually the first game I've bought on GOG. It's one of the best games I've ever played, and it's nice to get all of the bonus stuff in the remaster. However, I noticed that the Steam and PlayStation version both have achievements to find. Someone mentioned unlocking achievements in a review on this site's page for the game. Is there some kind of option I don't know about that allows the GOG copy to use achievements as well?
There's no achievements in the GOG.com version at the moment, as the achievements aren't unlocked in the game's user interface itself but through the provider's achievements system (Steam Achievements, PlayStation Trophies). There's a chance in the future though, as the GOG.com Galaxy client will include achievements. So the game might be updated to have them once GOG Achievements are possible.
dont get all the fuzz about achievements, they dont make a game better or more enjoyable at all.

all you can do with them is brag to your friends

maybe im just too old for this sh.....

Tend to agree but I'm an old fart too. It's a video game not football, oh look at me I scored. Get over yourself.
We all are old guys and all we always wanted in games is... High Score ;) Achievements are for kids ;D lol
Why these harsh words...

What's the difference between the "Best Player of the Week" Highscore and an "Jumped through an solid Wall" achievement?

Sometimes you unlock some special content, most times the are just useless but funny.
Take Trine as example:
As an built-in in-game achievement you can unlock some production art. A nice way to motivate you for examining the levels carefully.
Additional their Steam build has the Steam achievements, where you get a medal when you manage to "surf" on an crate for more then 3 seconds. When i browsed the list of achievements it motivated me to try all of this silly things.
I'm pretty sure i enjoyed the game much more becourse of this.

I think GOG.com achievements could add some spice to some great games, but i wouldn't make a buying decision because of that.
