I am playing in normal mode. I have run into Loxmere Nightmage twice. I can't defeat him, he hits my character once and 3/4th of hits are gone. He chases my character all over the place, he teleports. Can't escape him, How do you deal with this thing? All of my prots are 80% except chaos 57% and physical 10%.

I know he hits with chaos, but at 57% he takes out 3/4th of my hits, don't think getting that up will help a whole lot?

He also debuffs you of any auras/buffs temporarily which doesn't help. What build are you playing?

He gets 43% damage through with 57% resis, with 80% resis, he will get only 20% through, which is half the damage you get else. Thought of putting Aether Soul into some item for him?

The first time I ran into him I was using a Purifier. He didn't do well against him, this character had maxed all the prots.

The second was a deceiver.

I decided to reboot the game and stay far away from the lower right corner of the plains of strife where he is suppose to generate. The wiki says he only generates on higher difficulties?

That is a great idea. Thank you! Doubt it will help much against that dude though. I looked up his stats and it's best to stay away from him. But will help with other nasties in the game!

Not any more. Now he roams around in the skeleton key part of Port Valbury on all difficulties.
