This has probably been answered already but I made it to ultimate, did the quest, and didn't get the Aether crystal cosmetic pet. Were these pets removed from the game? Or did I do something wrong?

You need to keep Hargate's formula to get the pet.

"This is a small Act 6 side quest, available on encountering a Strange Crystal Formation in The Infestation, if the player has completed The Origin of the Slith and kept Hargate's Formula."

If you handed the formula over you won't get the pet from that quest, but it unlocks the Kasparov's Gamble quest where you can get the other one.

And no, none of the cosmetic pets have been removed. Why would they?
