Just purchased this game Grim Dawn. Since down loading the game I have never been able to start the game. Every time I get the same error as listed above. I have tried several different fixes that were listed on different boards. Here is my system specifications.

Sony Vaio Laptop
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P7450 @2.13GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4650 (Legacy Beta 13.4 Driver)
4.00 GB of RAM
64-bit operating system, x64-bassed processor
Windows 10 Home - Version 1903

I have also changed the driver in use. Originally I used 13.1 and changed to the Beta 13.4.

I want to play the game I bought, and if I can not get a fix will have to return it to GOG

Try verifying the game files. Also see if anything here helps

Have you installed DirectX 9.0c?
Hi everyone,
So, I've bought GD collection, and on my Lenovo L490 also have this engine error.
I found this fix on YT:
/watch?v=jqNrqM7TtQs
But to be honest that doesn't works for me. I mean - the guy from this video said that I should cut/paste some .dll files from main game folder to some 'new' sub folder. But I don't have those files inside main game folder. Where do I find those?

Does this /d3d9 fix worked for anyone of you?
Or maybe you guys have some other idea how to approach that issue?
Try reinstalling the C++ redistributables from Microsoft.
