I've tried both the CD and floppy versions, but I get no sound, neither in the menu or in game. Tried all I could think of in terms of messing with settings, rerunning the game's sound setup utility and so on.

The floppy version has working digitized music, but that's about it.

Has anyone had any luck?

P.S.: GNB2 and above all have working sound, btw.

Hmmm... apparently sound works in the floppy version, but not the CD version of GNB1. Sigh, well it'll have to do.
This is unfortunately something inherent from the original CD release... I own it and it was always missing music (though gunfire is audible both in my original CD version as well as in the GOG release).

Interesting. Thank you for the insight. That sort of defeats the purpose of having a CD version...
Hi,

same problem here, cd-version with no sound/music - floppy -version is with sounds/music, why ?
