I'm getting roughly 1 frame per second, maybe less, and the stuttering in the cut scenes makes them unintelligible. This game is unplayable on my system. I've used the config.exe program to go through many permutations of the possible settings, and nothing is having any effect at all. I'm running Windows 7 64bit with an AMD CPU and video card. I've tried XP SP3 compatibility mode, to no effect. I'd be surprised if I were the first person to run into this, so I'm hoping someone will have a helpful tip for me.

I wasn't able to at the time, but I have now, and surprisingly, that fixed it. That's the first time I've had a reboot correct a problem with one game that wasn't affecting other games. You definitely get your solution points. :)

It's a known issue for this game, somehow it doesn't like when your computer been on to long.

I was having the same issue and couldn't get past the opening cut scene. A restart cured everything.
