Guess it's not really that old yet. What's the most recent game on GOG, anyone know?
I also picked the Collector's Edition up on eBay for $7.50 (delivered). But still need to play Gothic II, so it's gonna have to wait.
Out of interest, I installed and patched it to see what the performance would be like. Maxed out all the options. Have good FPS, but it definitely stutters when moving towards new areas (prefetching or caching maybe). I've got 4780 1GB and Phenom II X4 955. Also, the sound effects sounded kinda mute, even after fiddling with the sliders.

It was released in 2006 -- there's a few games on here from 2006, maybe even 07?
But yeah I guess JoWood isn't willing to sell it for $10 yet. Something to look forward to though..:)

Yeah, especially that Gothic 3 God-Forsaken ;) expansion tragedy was relased in 2008. I don't expect Gothic 3 here anytime soon.
dancingcrab In ten years time there won't be a machine able to run it smoothly. It's because of the engine, something that community patch team couldn't fix. You should have played the original. Rather painfull experience.

Just to let you know that the latest community patch, v1.73 has been released recently. You can find it here :

It's a full patch, meaning that you don't need to download and install the previous ones, which is nice. ^_^

The HDR and soft particle effects are particularly nice. I would certainly pick this up if I could ever find a non-digital copy (I don't know whether it was ever sold here though).
