I was outside the old camp and I saw a ledge so I hit ALT + Up Arrow and grabbed the ledge and pulled myself up all the ledges till I got to his cave on top of the cliffs. However when I tried to go down I tried hitting ALT + DOWN arrow and it did nothing. I tried walking down the ledge steps but I just miss them and fall all the way down and die. Is there a key combo for climbing down that I am Missing? How do you guys get UP and DOWN obstacles?

I don't think there's climbing down combination. You just have to jump/fall down. You can try moving while holding 'shift', this way you will walk instead of run and then it may be possible to fall down on one of the ledges and not all the way to the ground and dying. Having acrobatics unlocked is also helpful, as it may prevent from taking falling damage.

It's been sooooo long but I have a vague memory of being able to do that. I'm thinking I had to stand with my back to the cliff then do ALT + down arrow but, I could be way off the mark too.
