Stuck in Sleepers temple. I got the strange sword. then went into the lava room with the elevator. Went down into the water room and hit the switches opening up the gates on the other side of the lava room. But when I go back up I try to cross the pillars to the other side but one is too high! Impossible jump. Is there a switch somewhere that lowers the platform?

Don't try to return by jumping back on the pillars. The exit is on the opposite side. :-)

kojocel: Don't try to return by jumping back on the pillars. The exit is on the opposite side. :-)
Went back. Don't see anything different. Don't know what is wrong. Checked several walkthroughs and I'm supposed to find a shaman that can't be damaged and leads you to go back to Xardas. But where is the shaman?

Hm... I hope I understand your location in the Temple well.
Look at this video, at the minute 22:00. Maybe it will help you. Alternatively, you can watch whole Temple walkthrough in the same playlist.
