It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I have tried disabling UAC, run as administrator, XP SP2 compatibility. gogwrap.exe runs; at first i got a gothic.exe but now I'm not even getting that. It simply will not start for me at all. :( I am on Win7/64.

Some users with this problem have had Google Chrome running at the same time, and closing it made the game work again. If that's the case for you try closing Chrome before starting the game.

Another possible solution is to go to the game's folder and run gothic.exe manually. It will be in the following location by default:

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Gothic 2 Gold\system

If you changed the install location it will be wherever you installed it to.
I don't use chrome so it's not that. I'll try clearing it out and starting over, i installed a community patch recommended in another post also to no avail.

This worked for me:
-Install game. Reboot.
-Set Compatibility Mode to Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
-Install Application Compatibility Toolkit. Open and Install Gothic-borderless.sdb.
