I want to read the book, Chronicles of Dominance, but apparently I am not ready for that. What are the requirements???

If memory serves you need to talk to one of the water mages (I think it's Myxir) about the locations of the Adanos artifacts. He'll mention Akascha, which will then point you to the monastery to find the location of Akascha's tomb. At that point Dargoth will give you the quest which requires you to read the Chronicles of Dominance.

Thank you for your help. I also found that I needed to talk to xardas, which I hadn't done.
