Hello

Here are two easy things that you could try out:
Install the "Community Patch".
Install the game outside "Program Files" folder (due to administrator rights).

Hope this helps!

Hi. I recently bought Gothic 3 from GOG and I have the exact same problem since i get the following message: ""compile shader material cache, this may take several minutes.
press button to start. ok.""
From what i've read in this thread , the solution that was given was to install a community patch , but which patch is this ? .since this thread is very old, (2012 from what i see) i'm curious to ask if GOG's version of the game doesn't include such an old community patch !!
P.S. when this error appears , i can see from the icon of the game which is being shown at the windows taskbar , that it has a headline which writes: ""Gothic3, V1.75.20108(Rev.14) -1920x1080"" .
so from what i can understand , this version includes the latest community patch which - if i'm not mistaken - is the 1.75 , correct ?

EDIT: Hmmm, this proved to be much easier than i expected.
I just had to wait about 10minutes until the game finally manages to start for the 1st time , and afterwards , from the in-game menu i changed the resolution to 1600x1200 (4:3) and now everything seems to work just fine !!!
