Hi !

So my computer is way too old and crappy and the mod drops the framerate significantly. Is there a way to disable all of the enhanced graphics feature while keeping the other features ?

(By the way, in gothic 2 vanilla when I look at a certain angle the framerate drops in the same fashion. Reducing the view distance doesn't help. What do ? I've seen some of the topics with this problem but those all talked about ATI cards, I have an Nvidia one.)

Thanks.

Very simple: don't install/uninstall the L'Hiver mod. After that, If the game is still too much for you after lowering the resolution as far as you can while still being able to see what you're playing--you are simply going to have to upgrade your box--you can build a much better box now for significantly less than you paid for your present machine and it'll run anything on the market with ease. No upgrad-ee hardware, no play-ee games, I'm afraid...;) (Stay away from laptops if gaming is something you enjoy.)
The question was "How do you keep the crap that L'Hiver changed while removing the graphical upgrades it added" and the answer is fairly simple.

You can't. Easily anyway.

The guy that made L'hiver made everything as a single vdf file, so unless you know how to edit vdf files (there are ways otherwise modding Gothic wouldn't be a thing) you can't cut the textures and graphical crap out of the mod.

As to how to do that? Well, you're going to need to learn how to mod Gothic, and by that I mean create/edit vdf files and frankly I didn't feel like screwing with it myself.
