It's this time of the year again, and time to play through the amazing Gothic 2 for the gazillionth time.

I was listening to Xardas, anticipating again to start my favorite game of all time from the beginning. And I notice... My mouse sensitivity is ridiculously low. In-game sensitivity is at maximum and I tried changing my mouse sensitivity outside of game as well, and nothing works. It drags so much that combat is even more of a hassle than normally.

Any ideas?

And I use Razer Naga mouse, if that would have anything to do with this problem.

Have you played this game with this mouse before? I'm not familiar with this one but gaming mice often come with their own software that overrides Windows' normal sensitivity handling in ways old games may not like. You should be able to disable this override somewhere in its software.
Disable "Enhance pointer precision" option in windows mouse options.
I've played like that and it worked great.

I've tried both of those solutions, and neither work. The mouse sensitivity is just way too low. I'm at a loss ._.

Sinithor, I have the same mouse and the same problem, but it's not the mouse (which is quite nice BTW).

I fixed it by opening up the GOTHIC.INI file in the "Gothic 2 Gold/system" directory. Way down in the file there is a section with the heading [ENGINE]

Look for the line

zMouseRotationScale=2.0

I changed my value to

zMouseRotationScale=8.0

and the mouse is totally useable in game now.

Hope that helps!
Just started playing recently and experienced the same problem with Logitech G400.

Thought I should mention jabbrwokk's solution worked for me in case anyone happens upon this thread with the same problem.

To fix the mouse problem for Gothic 2 go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers right click on your mouse then click on mouse properties >pointer option and disable enhanced pointer precision.

If that still doesn't work then leave enhanced pointer precision turned off and open up the Gothic 2 INI file located in the system folder of wherever you installed the game to for example

(C:)\Program Files (x86\Piranha Bytes\Gothic 2 Gold\system

Once you've opened up the Gothic INI file find and change

mouseSensitivity=1 to mouseSensitivity=3
zMouseRotationScale=2 to zMouseRotationScale=3

This one may be personal preference (you don't have to do it) but I changed zSmoothMouse from 3 to 0

Save Gothic.INI

I have done this and now the mouse runs flawlessly for Gothic 2.

I know this post is vary old already but hopefully this helps people who have problems with the games mouse sensitivity in the future.
