Installing this for the first time via gog galaxy and wonder if I need any mods to get the most out of it? Is it possible to play with a xbox controller somehow? Enhanced grapichs etc?

You could use the D3D11-Renderer mod, you can find information about it here, both in english and german language.

The main thing you need to decide is whether or not you're going to play with or without the Night of the Raven expansion. NotR makes the game harder, but it's also adds a huge amount of content. I recommend yes, but it's not wrong to save it for a second playthrough.

[Thanks for the replies! Found alot of mods in another thread and got some crappy controller support via Pinnacle. Totally blown away by this amazing game! Why isnt there a remake? Its abit hard on the eyes and hard to control, but toher than that, a must play for everyone! Whooo
