I'm considering to buy Gothic on GOG.

After looking into the system requirements I wonder why there's only listed Windows XP and Vista? Doesn't it run on Windows 7/8/10?

And I also wonder which patch is in the download? According to the German side World of Gothic is Patch 1.08h the newest version. Do I need to install it or is it enclosed in the GOG installation?

There's also a paragraph stating that there may be issues with Win10 due to it being constantly upgraded so I assume Win7 would work. I THINK I played the game with my current machine which is Win7 but, I am not sure exactly how long ago I last played Gothic. If no one else replies, I'd ask GOG support providing they fixed the support page so that it now works.

The support answered: Gothic 1 only runs under Windows XP and Vista :( and it's version 1.08k. :)

I have played Gothic on win7 with no problems; haven't tried win10 though.

interesting! Did it run out of the box (v1.08k_mod) or did you installed gothic1_playerkit-1.08k or/and G1Classic-SystemPack-1.7? Do you have a NVidia graphics card?

Out of the box (GOG version) although I think I did install the player kit eventually. This was on my last computer, 2010ish, which had intel CPU and AMD GPU.

I just got Gothic on sale today and installed it using Windows 10, latest build. It works with no fiddling or custom patches required.
