everytime i touch that last switch to spawn the 3rd Shaman Varrag Kasorg i get the error
B: VFILE: Err: -2: Can't find file: work/data/textures/desktop/trw_2h_orcstaff_01.mrm 255

Huh, that's very strange. Have you tried leaving the temple entirely (by returning to the surface) and then going back?
If that doesn't work, try reinstalling.

It really sounds like a missing texture - a reinstall might be necessary. You can back-up your savegame so you don't have to start over, but I don't know where save-games are stored.
Can anyone tell him/me in which folder the save-games are saved?

Saves are stored in the program folder, but uninstalling won't delete them unless you specifically choose to. On Vista and 7 with UAC enabled, saves are stored within VirtualStore.

This happened to me a few times, just run the Installer again and it'll work, you don't even need to uninstall first. All your settings and saved games will remain untouched.

Not the same problem ( i don't even have a 'textures' folder inside Gothic/ _work/DATA/ ), but similar.
Exact same spot ( Orc temple, last switch to trigger Orc Undead Shaman #3 ).
Crash due to a missing file.
Unistall + (Re)Install didn't help, not even with a new gothic installer downloded using the GOG downloader app.
Missing file in question:
...\Gothic\_work\DATA\Music\dungeon\ITRW_2H_ORCSTAFF_01.MRM
I fround the file in question ( ITRW_2H_ORCSTAFF_01.MRM ) in the directory:
...\Gothic\_work\DATA\Sound
Copying over the file solved the problem.
Just posting this in case anyone else runs into the same problem.
