Hi there. So I had a lot of fun playing this game and went from dirty peasant to Steel Machine of Awesome™ in about 18 hours and when I don't one-shot mobs, I two-shot them. Logically this caused me to explore as much as I could (save for the orc lands), and so i explored the monastery north of the swamp. So I got the transform into meatbug scroll, opened the door, killed all the scrapers, but didn't find anything in the area so I never went back until chapter 3 with all the focus stones.

But now I can't progress in the story. I talk to Gorn and suggest we go into the monastery together, and so he wonders how we're gonna get past the gate (which I opened ages ago). immediately, he congratulates me for opening the gate, etc. But now he stands in front of the opened gate doing nothing. I tried to talk to him but no subject comes up, only "END". I also tried to sleep at the old camp and going back there, and I collected every other focus stones.

So the focus stone can't spawn and I can't do anything now, the game broke because I explored a bit too much. :(
This isn't the first time that's happend but the only problems the other instances caused was narrative awkwardness.

Of course, I could just read a summary of the game following this quest or watch a walkthrough but this is depressing. First time it's happened in my life.

TL;DR The game broke at the Monastery and I can't spawn the focus stone. Is there a command prompt or something to put the focus stone directly into my inventory ?

Thanks.

Doesn't he follow you anymore? Have you tried using the winch to open/close the gate again?
Are you sure you haven't already got the Focus Stone during your first trip there?

Nope, he just stands in front of the door. Also I just tried to attack him, he takes no damage and doesn't respond to that in any way other than grunting and looking at me briefly before looking at the gate again.
Yeah, I tried the winch. Even had a bit of fun singing the Gilligan's Island theme song when rotating it right and left, but it ultimately did nothing. The gate doesn't move and Gorn stays right where he is.
No, I didn't get the stone during my first time there. The only things that spawned here were two packs of scrapers and some meatbugs, and I killed them all.
The focus should be there since chapter 1. (It's not at the platform but in a chest in the cave further in the monastery)

If that doesn't help you can get the focus via console. Press B (status screen opens) type “marvin” and press B again. (A note should appear at the top left of your monitor). Then open the console with [F2] and type “insert focus_4”.

Played the game long time ago, but that's what I suspected too.

Really ? I didn't spot any cave while I was there, I thought the entire monastery consisted of the platform, the chest in the upper area that you can't access without having acrobatics (since the column doesn't work) and a tower with a hole in the ceiling that you can't get to.

I'll check later, thanks a bunch !

EDIT : Wow, I feel really dumb. Found the cave and the focus stone ! I thought it was part of the wall, I didn't see the entrance of the cave nor the plants on the ceiling. I can resume my quest now, marked your post as the answer. Glad I didn't have to resort to command prompts.

Thanks again to both of you, have a good evening !
