I'm pretty sure I've come across this bug before but I don't recall how to avoid it...

I challenged Kirgo to an Arena fight, won and now guys are trying to shoot me with crossbows. So far I'm pretty sure Scatty and Fletcher are shooting at me.

BTW I decided to fight right after becoming a Shadow. I'm using a Rusty Two-hander and Shadow Armor.

Oh, also Mud is following me (into the Arena).

EDIT: Are you only supposed to fight in the Arena before you join a Community? It seems that the Arena fight is being treated as a brawl...

Hm,

Can't think of anything right now, but these:

1. Leave Mud outside = kill him. I'm saying this, because one time, when I challenged Kirgo, Kharim was training in the Arena. We started the fight normally, but after I beat him up fair, Kharim attacked me. So I think this may be a bug.
2. While in the Arena, let Kirgo finish his "intro" before attacking you - you both need to be engaged in combat.
3. Ignore Kirgo and challenge Kharim - he sure puts up a good fight - be only does the same moves over and over again, and it's actually easy to beat him up.

Kharim's fight:
- He starts with a main swing (up -> down) and then does three secondary swings ( 3 x left <-> right),
- after he attack, parry his attacks twice: the main swing and the three swings,
- attack him: preferably with a side-swing, as he won't parry it,
- fight "resets" and you repeat the whole scheme again.

Scatty and Diego will be "deeply" impressed = more xp from Kharim + more xp from quest.

I got shot with a crossbow after beating Kharim this time.

I'm pretty sure I know what the cause is.

Once you hit Chapter 2 if you didn't already fight them you are no longer able to challenge them... but if you join a community you can still challenge them in Chapter 1- but Jackal and Scatty seem to treat it as a brawl.

I'm guessing the guards are coded to ignore Arena fights if you are not part of a Community yet.

(I was careful to eliminate Mud and let them do the actual Arena "We Fight Now!" chat where they draw their weapon.)
