i'm waiting for gothic 1 to become cheap enought to get the gog version of this game.
but this doesn't happen. to the contrary, it's getting expensive, much more expensive.
first it was €7.99, then €8.49 and now €8.89! the price is exploding! what is going on?
i already payed full price (~50€) for this twelfe years ago, this should be enough.
so i want a cheap way (max. 3€) to run the game on a nowadays 64bit system.

The price stays the same in $. The reason why the euro price is changing is because of the changing exchange rate of dollar and euros. You need to keep in mind that the base price here is dollar and all others are just in relation to this and get adjusted if exchange rates change drastically. So it is still the $9.99 game it has always been here.
And you will probably not get it cheaper here since it almost never is on sale.
holy shit, now it's €9.29! +16% in less than three months!
gog is getting more and more expensive and uneconomical for euro users...

--- and that's why Nordic Games pulled Gothic II and III.
Wow i should've bought many games from my whistlist when they were around 7 euros. Now many of them are twice as much as in Steam (many of them are still cheaper i might add). Don't get me wrong i prefer GoG over Steam but GoG is really getting more and more expensive. Maybe regional pricing is not so bad after all?
Well, the dollar is rising while the euro is plummeting, currently. That probably has an effect, and will continue to have one in the near future.

Well that would not be a big problem for buying games if i were live in Germany for example., but the hungarian forint is falling against euro more and more and in my country you make 2 euros for an hour of work (in a fairly good job), thats ~15/20 eruo a day, ~300/350 for a month, while all the other things like food, overheads, fuel etc. costs just as much or even more than in the countries to the west of us while there you make 1000-2000 euros a month (to the east of us it's even worse of course). What i'm saying is, when the games on gog getting more expensive in Europe it hurts more at some regions and less in others and while thats self-understood i really think that they should do something about it because theres a big market for them here. As I'm a university student every little penny counts for me and these raises do change my mind of buying a specific game.

I sympathize with you. That's just how economics is right now, and it affects everything. For a long time the dollar was low and the euro was high - it changes every few years in a cycle. The current deflationary trends in Europe are disconcerting, however, but I guess that's getting a bit off track.

I didn't know the forint was falling so much, but it creates an opportunity for Hungarian exporters because your products will be cheaper here in the U.S.

Okay, now I'm waaay off track! :)
and it's getting even more expensive! €9.49 now! that's that's 19% more than three months ago!

It's definitely a game to keep an eye out for if it goes on sale. As others have said, it rarely does, so if you see it discounted here, it might be a good idea to snap it up.
You've got mail.
