I noticed that when I play Arcania (and probably the expansion too) it makes my XBox gamepad vibrate at certain times. I don't wan this to happen, because I'm using the mouse and the gamepad is sitting on the desk making a grinding noise. Can't I disable this without having to unplug the gamepad every time? I can't even see anywhere in the options to turn on or off the gamepad usage.

Is there no button on the gamepad that makes it vibrate when you push it,that could also be the button to turn off vibration, but i only own a logitech gamepad which has that
Some PC gamepads do that if they use the old DirectInput force feedback, but XBox controllers don't have a button to toggle it. Usually a game will have a way to disable vibration, or even the whole gamepad, since I'm not using it anyway.

Maybe it will help, also you didn't say what kind of OS you are using and it's a xbox 360 controler maybe?
Well thanks. That's weird, but I'll try it.
