yeah blood 3 has let me track down things easier... and its neat to see my bloody trail after a battle if i forget to heal

Actually this might have been for performance reasons; the blood spots are remembered for a surprisingly long time over quite a long distance, so it could be that weak computers back in the day were slowed down by this.
