Hello !

Gothic2 works fine 100% via the gothic2.exe file, but when I try to run to run the expansion via the ar.exe it asks for a CD/DVD ... why ?
And how can I play the expansion, is it included in the gothic2.exe ?

I am ofc using the gog version.

If you did a default install with gog installer, the add-on is included. Just run the gothic2 exe.

Load up the game and you'll find out. If the main menu background is blue-themed with some mages you're playing with the expansion. If it has a background of the hero fighting a dragon you're playing Gothic II without the expansion.

The option to install without Night of the Raven is hidden within the Options button of the installer, so unless you specifically went to the trouble of going in there and unchecking the expansion you'll definitely have it.

When the game starts, for a second I do see the expansion logo - but the main menu is of the regular gothic 2.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game with the expansion.
I have indeed unchecked it by mistake as I always uncheck the desktop icons and the foxit reader.
Now everything seems fine.

But could I still use my 2 hour saves from Gothic2 or do I need to start over (I know it's not a lot of time, but still...).

Saves aren't compatible in either direction because the expansion overhauls almost everything.

I thought so...
Thanks.
