The intro video starts to play but the main menu screen doesn't go away, it looks as if you are watching the intro cutscene through "menu screen lenses" of sort. Does anybody have a solution for this?

Nevermind, it was a Windows 8 thing.
How did you fix this? Can the problem be fixed while running Windows 8?
No, that's the same in Windows 8(.1). I don't know how to clean the intro.
Same problem on Windows 10.
Using win7 64 bits
nvidia GTX 750 ti 2 GB

same problems... have to run in software renderer cause the other 2 options wont work and game migh even crash, also get audio 'lag' , screen flashes ( refresh error or something like that which is quite annoying to the eyes)

Thats why i have to use the ugly software renderer , the game only worked perfect on certain setups, when i got the game (retail ) it worked on my old machine ( which is gone now for years), but after getting my current pc many games wont work.

I can run the game but can't let the videos ( with the planes attacking) run cause the game will crash.( like Crash! Boom! Bang! ( Roxette Crash! Boom! Bang!)( nice song btw)

Even when using DXWnd and dgvoodoo ( which is ridiculous cause proper developed games will always run : example: Desperados retail unpatched and ran on my win xp (32 bits) and win 7 64 bits no patches needed)

Anyway i have to skip intro videos ( don't even know if the vids between missions will crash the game)
so i can play the game but only after using extra tools , using DXWnd i can run it in a window , but refreshing willl cause to crash the game... so its run the game and hands off no alt tab :D

gorky17_combat.jpg

this is how the game attack scenes look in software renderer : awfull ....

introgorky1.jpg (have to skip it)

gorky17_DXWnd.jpg in a window (using DXWnd) and setting compat. in de tool to win xp

1024x768 window desktop screen ( black) and a windowed game

So you might try the DXWnd and the dgVoodo 2
