I'm very glad that Floppy versions were included, since i always preferred the gibberish talk of these versions, but Goblins 3 (floppy) is pretty much broken. Starting with the copy protection screen that doesn't actually allow you to pick ANY number (it sometimes shows an error). And ending with a game breaking bug, that doesn't allow me to use inventory in the final location (gods/deities). Characters also sometimes start walking around instead of standing, have troubles with pathfinding and stuff like that. Remembering the old copy protection days, it seems that the floppy version simply wasn't properly unlocked, so the old protection scripts break the game. I may be wrong, of course, but that still leaves me with a broken game version.

Okay, I realize this is probably not going to help much, but the copy protection works for me. I just type "1" when the text stops flashing, then it beeps, and the game starts. Is that what you tried?

This both worked with the version of ScummVM that was included, and the latest ScummVM that I downloaded on my Macbook (where I actually intend to play).
If you cant press 1 use Shift+1

i know the copy protection here is made so you always have to choose ( 1 )
no other answer will work
I came across the same bug today where you cannot bring up your inventory in the final location with the message "CHUMP has no hands". This makes the game seemingly impossible to beat because you need items in your inventory to progress.

After tearing my hair out for a good hour, I discovered by chance that clicking on Were-Blount to re-select him fixes the bug entirely. You can bring up your inventory again! Saving the game afterwards also saves the fixed state so you won't have to repeat this step if you load the game up again.

Over 9 years later, so I doubt it'll help you much, but perhaps this will help someone else.
