Hello All,

I am wondering if this game is completely DRM Free or if it requires GOG Galaxy or another service for multiplayer. For example, games that have multiplayer DRM are Battletech and Age of Wonders 3. I cant find it listed on the store page but other games like Warhammer 40k Battlesector do not list this but still require a Slitherine account, although the account is not tied to the installer version just seems to replace the GOG galaxy account somehow, so DRM lite I guess. This is alright I guess, although sub optimal, if its clearly listed on the store page.

Does Gloomhaven have anything like this. can you play multiplayer with one copy like divinity original sin? I have two PC's in my home that I use for LAN games. I want to play this with my sibling who doesn't have a PC.

There is no DRM.
If you join a multiplayer game with Galaxy running, it will use your Gog-Account-Name in game.
Otherwise you will be named EditorUser.

There is no LAN-mode. All multiplayer is online and goes through their servers.
There is technically nothing stopping you from installing your one GOG-copy of the game on up to four PCs and hosting / connecting to the same session.
If you're physically in the same location anyway you might as well skip the legal gray area and the hassle and play on the same PC, hotseat-style.

Thanks for answering my questions, it was very helpful. Its good to know that the multiplayer is DRM free, I applaud the developers. But since there is no LAN mode I think I will just play locally on on PC, mostly to avoid the annoying latency I get whenever I have tried playing a game with other people in my home through the internet, for example a friend came over and we tried some games that we both own on steam that have no LAN and it was terrible. I do hope that the Gloomhaven creators add LAN at some point.

One more question: Does the game have an actual local mode, like Divinity OS, that lets you connect two controllers, or would we have to pass and play? The former would be better especially if I am going to connect it to my tv.

Anyways thanks for the clarification. The store pages are often a mess when it comes to this stuff.
It would surprise me if they added LAN-mode.
There is also no real local mode. You'll have to play singleplayer and pass along the mouse (and optionally keyboard).
By the way: As far as I know there is no gamepad support either, I can't check at the moment.
I'm a little confussed.

I've read a few reviews saying the game requires Galaxy running to access mutli-player, apparently it won't work if the game is installed without, is this still the case? Personally I'd be playing solo but I've avoided this game as I can't abide seeing a game advertised as DRM-Free only to find there's a hidden twist.

I don't know what to say except that it worked without Galaxy for me.

Hi all,

I am totally confused, as I do not get the multiplayer running, since I updated to the latest versions (extension installed). The multiplayer "join button" in the main menu is greyed out. And if I try to host a session the "host button" is greyed out as well no matter where i am in the compaign. If i install an older version with the extension not installed everything works fine...

I do not have GOG-Galaxy running...

Does anyone can give me advice, please?

Hey V0idhead,

can you please have a look at my other post... the last one?

Best regards
I am still having the issue as described by lazarusv as well. Happens whether or not the game is launched from the galaxy client. All multiplayer options are just greyed out, unable to be selected.
