I remember hearing about this game a while back in a gaming mag, and not being a regular pc gamer I really never thought anything of it. Now a few years later I got into gaming on the pc and wanted to check out some some classic games only to find that alot of them were not playable on XP (Or just took more work than I'm willing to put up with to get them to be enjoyed properly!)
Now with this game being my first download on GoG, I must say I am really impressed.
The gameplay is really fun so far. (I'm on "The Wife." mission.) and the cut-scenes are utterly hilarious. I'm glad the folks of GoG will give us folks who are a little late to the classic pc gaming party a chance to experience these gems!

Yeah this was such an underrated game - I had it when it came out and could never figure out why it wasn't a huge hit...

If you like Giants, make sure to check out Armed and Dangerous (I'm pretty sure there's a demo available). It was made by the same developer and has similar gameplay/humor. Unfortunately, it was published by LucasArts, so it probably won't be appearing on GoG any time soon.

Yep, I am enjoying the game. I had the disk years ago and sold it off before I finished the game and now and am playing again and finally nearing the end of the game.

I remember reading about it a long time ago, but never bought it until now.
I'm kicking myself for that. This game is great!
Now, to check out Armed and Dangerous for once...again, I've heard of it, but haven't bothered to actually play it.

Very good game. I also remember reading about it back before I had a decent PC. Luckily I get to enjoy it now. Better late than never. I highly recommend the Graphical Revision Mod, it only works on XP though, at least in my experience.

Playing for the first time, I laughed out loud at the part from the Meccs campaign where they found the kid and everybody starts screaming TIMMY!!!11.
The humor in this game is pure awesomeness ! 8D

I love when Timmy's father gives you the excuse of "I'm old.....and me balls are saggin'!" as to why he can't rescue his wife....

Just like the original poster, I too had heard of this game and knew very little about it. It was my first GOG purchase also and I am really loving it as well. The sense of humor is strange and unpredictable. I also thought the sagging balls part was hilarious. I am stuck on the first mission of Mecc Story 4 (the first one with the flying witch-looking enemies called "Evil Seareapers"). Those bitches are TOUGH! And last time I tried it, I was doing really well when the screen went to a blue and gray "Wintry Cool Error Screen" with an error message of "Too many objects. Object limit exceeded" or something. Yup, the game crashed in the middle of the last frantic battle of the mission. I will try it again later and hope the "object limit" is not "exceeded" this time. Great game though. Loving it.

WARNING: This could spoil the game for some, but it is simply intended to be a help to the kiddkalen that is stuck.
kiddkalen, do you mean the glowing green flying creatures? If so, then you can use a sniper rifle on them and hit them a few times from distance before they get to you. Also, use the sword and jet up them quickly and chop, chop. It is a great weapon in a lot of situations.

I found the game for 3.99 euros on the internet a few years ago and I really really enjoyed to play with some friends in LAN parties. Ok the game crashed on a lot of computers and I was the only one with no crash, but the fun was here and to play on multiplayer with each faction is amazing !
3 different gameplays but when you keow how it works I can say it's a good experience.
Now I purchased it again to make sure it will run on my computer and with the Graphical Revision mod the game is cute.
Really great game with crazy humour.
