I understand that there is supposed to be a new sweet dreams patch, but I cannot find it, will the patch be coming to GOG as an update?
Black Forest:
A new update for Giana has been released on Steam for a more casual, yet still twisted experience! We call it “Sweet Dreams mode” and hope that many of you more casual players will be able to enjoy Giana from beginning to end. A DRM-free patch will be released in a few weeks, for now it is only a steam update.

So still no patch except for Steam versions of the game??

No news. The devs are probably extremly busy trying to get the expansion ready for Steam.

No, they're just utterly useless. There's already a long discussion about how the devs have essentially turned their back on non-Steam copies of the game.

Poking around the various forums seems to confirm this. The people that were kickstart donors seemed to feel a little betrayed, and I don't blame them.
Valve is indeed a new "evil company," but until people blindly buy from them we can expect only worse and worse. :(
All backerz could redeem another email with the download links for the drm free version of ROTO. It just took some time. They also got the soundtrack for ROTO for free. So lots of bashing without now need, because some people just cant wait...
anyways communication could be improved...
Not all backers dear fanboi. Quite a few backers never got any email after the first and even that only after having to jump through hoops. BFG was struggling with who to assign the extra responsibilities to that comes with handling the kickstarter aftermath. And instead of pulling together and everyone doing an effort, people were shirking the responsibility. Add to that ridiculous behaviour that was completly unacceptable, such as telling backers to PM a specific dev directly with their problem and then ignoring those exact PM.
A community can never be better than the devs allow it to be. Resentment usually comes from somewhere. It is not always completly justified, but sometimes it is. And when eventually the devs clear up their act, that does not mean that suddenly no mistake had ever been made.
