On win 8 pro 64-bit, after successfully installed GR, UAC window popped up after double-clicked. After that it only truns cursor from arrowhead to cicle (loading) then nothing happened.

I already tried install on default C:\ on on my user documents folder. I also tried running as administrator & win xp sp3 compatibility mode. Results are the same.

Make sure all older components of DirectX 9 are present by installing this:

Also try compatibility mode for Windows 7.

Don't install it in your user's documents folder, but in a regular subfolder of C:\ e.g. C:\GOG-Games\

Also try running game by starting GhostRecon.exe in your game's folder as Administrator (right-click => Run as ...)
I've got the same issue.

After installing (also tried installing with admin rights) and starting the game nothing happens.
Also tried disabling firewall and antivirus, but no luck.

windows 7 64bit
GT630M (yes, playing on laptop currently)

other games worked perfectly fine. Would be great if someone knew a solution

EDIT:
Looking at this thread:

i can confirm that the problem has something to do with the GPU. When i tell it to start using integrated graphics then it starts up flawlessly.

But HOW do you tell it to start with integrated GPU? Not everyone here is tech savvy enough to understand where to click for that

First, to tell it to use the integrated GPU, right click your desktop, and select nvidia control panel. got to manage 3D settings -> program settings -> add ghost recon. go down the list til you see something like CUDA - GPUs modify the setting to not use your gpu. This "may" work

Second, I found that merely updating my graphics drivers worked. there are multiple ways you can do this, I did it through Geforce Experience.
