It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

You had 4 months since the last update and release this? What exactly is going on over there, do you not have a QA department?
This update broke my existing installation, and now I get getting an error message that the GOG Galaxy communication service has failed. I've tried everything I found on the forums, but no success yet. I'm never updating again.

Why don't you contact Galaxy Support: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us?product=galaxy ? They'll help you solve your problem. People often hesitate to do so, when encountering problems. The support is there to help in case you run into issues. :)
I'm sorry the update does not work well on your side, but it's a beta. You knew what you signed for. No need to lash out at the devs.

If you want a stable launcher, you should use the... stable one.

A competent QA is there so that people don't run into issues, in the first place.

I guess people hesitate to contact support, because most of them (all over the world) don't do anything except "turn it off and on again", followed by "reinstall all your drivers and the system". It's hard to expect a good support for a poor quality software.

In case you haven't noticed, GOG is making it hard for its customers to use anything but this beta version.
– If you look at the GOG Galaxy page, the only thing you can download is the 2.0 beta
– If you go in your library, it's either (optionally) the offline installer or (by default) the 2.0 beta
– Last week they offered The Witcher if you accepted to use the 2.0 beta

So, no, I'm sorry, they cannot hide behind the beta label when they promote it as the default mean to download and play your games (but to their credit, they fixed the regressions rapidly so no much harm was done).
