I am trying to install Cyberpunk, and after it goes through the installation, a black screen comes up with a circle going round and round...then I get message that says: "Oops. Something went wrong."

What is the deal? I just spent $45 on a game I may not be able to play because the gog system won't work. Whatever happened to the good old days when you could just have to deal ONLY with installing the game and nothing else?

Right now, I feel kinda sour about all this. But I am hoping someone here can help me so that I can maybe feel better about all of this?

Hello and welcome.

1. Check permissions in your firewall and other security software. GOG Galaxy has executables spread across C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy and C:\ProgramData\GOG.com. Additionally, the game executable needs Internet access for achievements to work (and possibly other features).

2. As a workaround, see if you can launch the game directly from the installation folder (by not using GOG Galaxy, you'll miss out on a few Cyberpunk 2077 goodies).
If the game isn't installed properly, you can get the offline installers from your library on the site or the Extras section of the details view in GOG Galaxy. Offline installers set up the game to work without GOG Galaxy, but it should be possible to add games installed this way to GOG Galaxy later on.

3. If you haven't already, open a new support ticket. It can take weeks for support to respond, so the sooner you do this, the better.
If you're having trouble with the chatbot, repeatedly saying the suggestion wasn't helpful should make it prompt you for info to create a new support ticket. You can also bypass the chatbot with a user style.

4. Lastly, I hope it doesn't come to this, but you have 30 days from the purchase date to request a refund. Wallet refunds should go through within 24 hours, whereas other types of refunds can take 30 days.
