Where are the direct downloads ? I am lost.
I downloaded a few installers, they came up as 500K ea. and wanted to run GoG Launcher to install.
GoG Launcher not working for me at the present time, so I want a stand alone installer. (Windows 8.1)

As for virii (don't try this at home, leave it to the professionals), I stopped 2 chain installers last week, not with AV, but by terminating the services, the running files and deleting temp folders, when it died down I did the deeper cleaning of folders, startup & registry of course.

The offline installers are always the latest version (you’ll notice “4.02_hotfix” in the column next to the download links). The reason there’s so many files is because Witcher 3 next-gen is huge and GOG break the installers up in to 4GB chunks in case people want to store/transport them on media formatted at FAT32. You likely don’t need any of that next gen stuff and can likely just download the classic version from the extras section (which “only” has 10 parts) .

I hate to tell you but I downgraded Witcher 3 to ver. 4.10 to get it to work on my PC again. So 4.02 is a few steps back. (When the launcher WAS working, not anymore.)

Not going to argue version numbers, maybe the Launcher gave me the wrong number.
Anyways, I want a one chunk file installer not 10-100. I don't own just one game and I would like to buy more.

I actually double checked the version number in Galaxy and it’s 4.02_hotfix there too. I know updating works since No Man’s Sky has had a couple of updates since then and they’ve been pushed to me as you’d expect.

As I mentioned before, as long as FAT32 is a thing that exists, breaking crazy huge games up into 4GB chunks is a necessary evil. Galaxy can download and install them in one hit, not to mention download the offline installers for you (though I thought I saw a post claiming that wasn’t working?), but you’ve managed to break Galaxy on your system beyond recovery so it’s the chunks or nothing.

I'd welcome someone help fix it, but it takes a Galaxy programmer that is an expert in Windows too.

i have considered linux but, it is AMD only, no INTEL support. my HP have a sandy bridge CPU which is not compatible with windows 10. google owns all net code. browsers have to be based on google`s code. steam is a browser, so that people can access the forums through steam. the store page is also a normal web page. they could theoretically have released a steam platform without browser however.
