I'm traveling much with train, and never use w-lan on trains (cause of safety). So im without internet on Trains but galaxy won't start up without internet. Old Galaxy version was able too, i don't need a cross manager with steam or such shity platforms. These Dark-Theme hurt my Eyes very badly and i can't disable it. So give me old galaxy luncher back or you lose an customer.

edit: and every time i reach new Area and get internet galaxy things its anew device and need new 2step authentification, even if im getting home.

The games are DRM-free so you should be able to open them. If you want to see all of them together, you can add Playnite as a backup to be able to see all your games and launch them.

Holy shit, thanks for this I never knew this existed!

I love galaxy, but both it's heavy reliance on the Internet and the CONSISTENT launcher disconnects makes it a horrible multi-platform launcher, so much so that I don't even use the feature anymore as I'm only using it as a GoG launcher, but even this might change!

There's also LaunchBox. I've been meaning to install Playnite to see if I like it more, but I've only started fiddling around with LaunchBox in the past month, and I definitely like the customizability of the right-clicks and sorting.

I'm sure there's a few more out there that might cater more to specific tastes for each of us. Only so much time to try them all.

Yeah I might give the free version a go depending how limited it is, I'd buy launchbox except I'm saving up for a 3080, @-200 per month so I'm going to pass for now as $75 would cut into my budget...

I'm just using the free version myself. As of right now, the only major limitation I see with it is the ability to add your own badges, fields to the descriptions and background coloring. Just for some example photos, here's my screen with just GOG games showing, and optional choices on the right-click menu added for the Forum, OBSE, and Wrye Bash for Oblivion on the first photo. The second photo is with the side menus removed and the options on how to arrange showing.

Just be aware, if you do choose to download all the images and box art from EMUMovies (an option), it does take a while if you have a lot of games. I'll probably start testing out Steam games in the next couple weeks.

Cool, yeah I think I will, thanks for the info! Oh, and yeah, I have over 750 GoG games and over 300 of steam, so yeah, it will take a bit of time!
I tried Launchbox a short while ago, and it seems that it is not similar with GOG 2 or Playnite. That's more an emulator for different games, but you don't have direct integrations with launchers as Playnite has to import them easy and be able to auto-close the launchers when you quit the games, too.

The main advantages for me right now on Playnite compared to GOG 2 are:
1. Besides Rockstar (that was just added - so it's a bit of a work in progress), the games from other launchers always close the launcher when you close the game. On GOG 2, only Rockstar and Origin always work from my tests, Steam and uPlay sometimes close the launcher on exit, sometimes don't. Epic and Battle.net are never closing when you quit a game from there.
2. The resources used are almost 10 times less than GOG 2: https://i.imgur.com/bIudqWH.png . Theoretically, after some time the resources used by GOG are decreasing, but it still uses a few times more more resources. And being more simple makes the app a bit faster, too.
3. I like the layout more, the Details View more exactly. It's Steam-like, you have all the games on a left-side list and when you click on them you see details. There are even some themes made by the community, one is similar to the last Steam version.

The main disadvantages:
1. It doesn't have achievements - there is a community plugin for that, but it's kinda beta, there are things not working and it's not directly integrated in it.
2. There is no social aspect on it, you just see your games, details about them, the games are imported automatically (uninstalled and installed ones) and you can play them.
3. You don't have an online account. If you want to save your changes, you'll export your library manually (not a big deal).

On Playnite you can directly install games from uPlay, Steam and Origin. It's not working for Epic, GOG, Battle.net, Rockstar (Rockstar isn't even supported for uninstalled games, you see only the ones installed) - when you click install it just opens that particular launcher. This might change when Playnite 8 will release, but will see.

On GOG you can directly install games from Steam, uPlay, Origin, Battle.net and GOG. It's not working for Rockstar and Epic.

I don't find much of a problem regarding the disadvantages right now. I don't use achievements very much and the social side is not really working on GOG 2 right now, either, so when you click on play you can use the friend list from that particular launcher, directly. GOG has the potential to be better at some point, but it still has a lot of things that are not working properly.

One thing playnite has above Galaxy: you DON'T have to be online in order to search for games in your library, or to tag them, it sucks that Galaxy's best features relies so heavily on the Internet in order to function!
