Hello there, ladies and gentlemen!

I have a troublesome question to you all, especially to GOG Galaxy makers. The "Recently played by others" games' list seems to be a way for implementing an advertising wall. Please just take a look at my case (you can find TL;DR version below the full description):

I have 4 friends on GOG. I'll call them for my example: John, Lisa, Paul and Rick.
- John doesn't use GOG Galaxy but has Steam account where we're befriended too and Epic Game Store account because he wanted Kingdom Come: Deliverance and GTA V get for free; he doesn't have any account on any other gaming platform. John rarely plays but when he has time he plays single player games from Steam (while writing this post his Steam account has been active around 108 days ago) or multi player games with me, occasionally with some random players but never without me.
- Lisa has GOG Galaxy starting up with Windows, just like Epic Game Store, Steam, Origin clients; she also has Nintendo Switch. Lisa spends most of her time in Guild Wars 2 (which I'm playing with her for two weeks by now), Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, rarely but still - League of Legends. From time to time we play together Terraria or Don't Starve Together on my server.
- Paul is Linux user only for at least 5 years, he has never used GOG Galaxy but he has some gaming consoles, like PS3, PS4, Nintendo Wii and some older ones. Around a half year ago his PC's motherboard has gave up and broke. He can't afford its replacement while he and his girlfriend are working hard as corpo-rats in the same company as me (yep, I'm a corpo-rat too) for really poor wages.
- Rick is just like John - PC master race gamer, but plays games more often, usually via Steam client; I don't know if he uses GOG Galaxy; if so I bet he doesn't use any of GOG Galaxy integration, because he has accounts on GOG and Steam. Rick has his own liking, maybe a bit mainstream but not too much. And he really enjoys old games, like Alpha Centauri or Age of Wonders (first part, he doesn't like the second one and its "separated expansions" at all while the third one and its DLCs are fine for him).
None of them owns any VR set, all of them I have befriended on Steam too.

In "Recently played by others" section I can find following games:
- Death Stranding
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Fairy Tail
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- The Last of Us Part II
- Half-Life: Alyx
- Counter Strike: Global Offensive
- Fortnite
- Apex Legends
- World of Warcraft
- Playerunknown's Battlegrounds
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Teamfight Tactics
- Overwatch
- FIFA 20
- Minecraft
- DOTA 2
- League of Legends
- Hearthstone
- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege
And now, I can justify only some of them.

Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II are PS4 games, so there's only a single user in my friends' base who could play them - Paul. But as far as I know (as his friend) he laughs at Death Stranding and doesn't even want to play it, The Last of Us Part II is in the same situation as the previous game. Ghost of Tsushima... Well, I can't be sure about it, but still - he doesn't connected his GOG account with the one from PlayStation Network, so GOG shouldn't know what he could play on PS4. And he's the only one PS4 user I have befriended on GOG.
Fairy Tail - game distributed on three platforms: PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC (Windows only) via Steam. I have only two friend on GOG who are intrested in anime-themed games: Paul and Lisa. None of my friends on Steam has this game in their library, even on wishlist. PS4 - I've described that case previously. As far as I know, Lisa doesn't have it on Switch. And she's the only alibi for presence of this game on this list. Only if she has found and installed proper integration between Nintendo Account and GOG Galaxy. But I'm pretty sure she hasn't got it.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - yes, Lisa plays it on her Switch. It's first fully justified game that "others"/friends could play recently. Only if she has integrated her Nintendo Account with GOG Galaxy.
Half-Life: Alyx - well... It's not an arrow in the GOG's knee. It's a whole greatsword pushed to its crossguard into their stomach. By themselves. Because I don't even personally know the person who has a VR set for PC. None of Steam befriended user has played this game. I know only one person who has PS VR, but he doesn't have GOG account, so... In my opinion it's a 100% proof that GOG has failed and pushed ad in this list.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds - all of them land in one basket - none of GOG friends has played any of them. CS:GO has been played by some friends from Steam, PUBG too. I've registered Epic Game Store account only to get access to their's Unreal Engine 4 GitHub and run its editor on Linux, but due to required Vulkan support (OpenGL has been abandoned by Epic in UE4) I haven't touched it. I've never looked at EGS's website, never tried to download EGS client, never logged into this account on Windows. In this case, Fortnite lands into "the basket of proofs" next to the mentioned VR game.
Grand Theft Auto V - from GOG befriended players only two of them could play it, but I'm almost sure they haven't used GOG Galaxy integration and played via Epic Game Store client. 4 another friends have played it via Steam. I'm suspicious about this one game too.
Apex Legends - Paul has never played that, he doesn't have it on PS4. John and Rick don't have Origin accounts. Lisa... she could try this game. Maybe, but I haven't seen her playing this game via Discord status. I'm going to throw this game into "unsure" ones. It depends only on one question: did Lisa integrated Origin account with GOG Galaxy or not.
World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Heartstone - only Lisa from my GOG's friends list is interested into Blizzard's games. I know she has played WoW, OW. I can't remember if Heartstone too, but it's possible. I could skip them only if Lisa would have managed integrate her Battle.net account with GOG Galaxy. But I'm almost sure it didn't happen.
Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends - only Lisa could play the first one a bit, the second one I'm sure she has played, but still... is there any way to integrate any Riot's games accounts with GOG Galaxy? I know there is a way to add games directly into GOG Galaxy but really, while adding manually installed old games is the right one case, adding games requiring other launchers or clients to the GOG Galaxy is the thing most of people I know would do. For me presence of this game in this list is also suspicious.
FIFA 20... Only some of my step-brothers play FIFA games and but it every year, but talking about me and my friends... If you want to ask what my friends think about FIFA franchise all of them will say very similar thing: overrated, overhyped, overused. And they don't play it. Another advertisement in the list.
Minecraft - I play that, but on Linux. I've played with some friends from work who I have befriended on Steam but not on GOG. And really, it's the same case as Teamfight Tactics or LoL - could be added to GOG Galaxy directly, but why? And what is more important - none of them uses GOG Galaxy, I haven't befriended them on GOG. Very suspicious.
DOTA 2 - 4 friends on Steam have played that. But I don't have any of them in friends list on GOG.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege - Paul could play it on PS4. Also Paul have never used GOG Galaxy. And he's the only person who is befriended on GOG and could play it. But he never used GOG Galaxy. 2 friends on Steam have played that, one has it wishlisted. Everything means for me that I shouldn't be able to find this game on "Recently played by others" list. But there it is.

TL;DR - I can find 20 games in "Recently played by others" list and in my opinion: 5 out of 20 shouldn't be there because there is really low chance to be really played by people from GOG or Steam I have on my friends list, 3 out of 20 are under really low possibility of being tracked down by looking into befriended accounts on GOG and Steam, 1 out of 20 I can't assume it should be there or not, 10 out of 20 could be there if GOG Galaxy took them from befriended people's account on GOG or Steam, or were actually played but by people who probably don't use GOG Galaxy integrations or even whole GOG Galaxy client.

My actual question is: how far GOG Galaxy looks into logged in accounts of user's friends in available synchronizations? Why am I asking? Because current content of "Recently played by others" section is very suspicious and in my opinion some games shouldn't be even listed there, another ones couldn't be there without any form of syncing games or accounts with GOG Galaxy client. Which I think my friends are not using at all, just like me. I have synced Steam with GOG Galaxy, and nothing more. And according to the fact I've found Minecraft on this list, someone had to add it to some client, like GOG Galaxy, Steam, etc.

The list of games Recently played by others comes from all Galaxy users activities.
Games on this list that comes specifically from your friends activity will have your friends' GOG profile icons attached beneath the game cover.
The list of "recently played by others" games can't even be taken from all Galaxy activities. If it were, it couldn't include Switch games, since there is no Switch integration.

you can add those games manually
Ok, so if this games list is taken by activity of all GOG users, then there is a confusing and misleading translation in Polish version.

In english, as most of you can see, this field is called as in the title of this topic. But in Polish, it is called "Ostatnie gry znajomych", what can be literally translated as "Games played recently by mates/friends".

And sorry for the inconvenience, folks. Here's the screenshot for a proof. And in this case I'm not sure which translation is basically intended by GOG. Polish version is somewhat "native" for GOG and CDP/CDPRed but they're also a worldwide company, so... Is the Polish translation what they meant and whole functionality of this feature is a big mess or did Polish company make a mistake in Polish translation?
