I apologize if this is a bit TL;DR but in order to get clear concise answers, I have to ask clear and concise questions.

Regarding Galaxy 2.0, I signed up for it today and I am waiting for the invite, however I have a few questions regarding Galaxy 2.0 and Steam:

1. According to the Galaxy page, I can play game across platforms, does that mean I can play ALL of my steam games or a select few?

2. If Galaxy can play steam games, do I have to have steam running and logged in? It would be nice to use Galaxy 2.0 to play steam games without logging in to steam or use that dreadful client.

3. Do I need to be logged in to GOG to play all games on the Galaxy? like if I log out (Which I do for security reasons) or cannot log in due to bad internet when I am away from home, will I still be able to boot up and play All of the games with Galaxy? (including steam Games.)

I payed for my steam games, but I am worried since I "don't" technically own the games I payed for with my own money, steam can revoke access to the games I legit payed for anytime for any reason. (Yes I have bought games through GOG, all classics. The fact that I can freely play classics without DRM is why I love GOG more than steam.)

I hope that the Galaxy 2.0 is not like steam, what I mean is that I can use Galaxy 2.0 to play steam games without needing steam or at least not needing to log in to steam to play them, nor needing to log in GOG to play the games, but use the GOG log in to use online features only. I.E that I own the game I legit payed for with earned money and not a license that is at the mercy of an external middleman (I.e. Steam).

All help and answers will be appreciated.

1. Not quite sure what you mean here, but yes you can play any game you own on Steam (or various other platforms).

2. When you open a game through GOG, it will open that game through the required launcher. There's also an option to automatically close most launchers once you're done with the game. So it would open Steam, launch the game, and then close Steam once you quit the game.

3. You will need to log in the first time you open it. I've launched it offline while logged in and it seems to work fine, but I have not tested it much. Perhaps someone else could chime in on that. If you log out while offline you will not be able to sign back in until you are online again. Other games' offline functionality will depend on their respective launchers.

GOG does not bypass DRM such as Steam, and probably will not in the future. There are some games on Steam that do not require Steam to function and can be backed up as a DRM free copy, but that is not the majority. Any game that uses Steam's DRM will require Steam to launch, Galaxy 2.0 will not change this. The same goes for any other launcher. If you wish to own your digital games, buy from sources that provide a DRM-free copy such as GOG. Galaxy cannot transform DRM-protected games into DRM-free games.

There are many benefits to using Galaxy 2.0, but bypassing launchers is not one of them. It would be very difficult to achieve and would likely not gain any good will from other companies so I would not expect this feature to be added.
