It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

This MIGHT be related to the OS itself (specifically the Windows "default" browser), but essentially attempting to make a purchase via the GoG Galaxy client using PayPal results in an error from PayPal that the used browser is too old.

My default browser is Brave and had no issues with PayPal at all, so my guess is it's the OS "default" web rendering engine that's at fault here. Or possibly GoG itself - can't really say. Either way this shouldn't really be an issue if other clients can handle PayPal purchases...

PS. Of course a purchase can be made via the GoG site itself without issues, so this isn't a serious problem.

Seems to be working for me, I'm getting to the final payment step.
When does this occurs ? Right at the start, after authenticating, or when clicking "Pay" ?

Hmm, weird.

I got the error right after authentication; I expected to get a confirmation screen from PayPal with the final price, but instead got the screenshot I provided.

EDIT:
It's actually even weirder; the payment confirmation page does show up, incomplete, briefly, before being replaced with the compatibility warning.

EDIT 2:
On a side note, I just noticed that Google Pay is available via the GOG site, but not via the GOG Galaxy client.

Same problem here, posted it a few days back. The GOG client uses whatever ancient browser. Just like you said order on the web page with your own shiny up to date browser and you can even pay them. Guess they don't plan to release any important games in the near future ... :D

Can confirm. Whatever browser is used for payments with Paypal in Galaxy is not compatible.

So paying via Paypal is currently not possible via Galaxy.
Can't pay for GOG games through PayPal, my favorite payment method either. This has been going on for too long. Does GOG want my CC # data?

It's not that, trust me, it's just a bug. You can still buy your GOG games via your preferred web browser outside of Galaxy and I'd say that's probably still the best way to buy GOG games. I'd definitely recommend that anyone who encounters this issue submit a bug report about this (so GOG knows how many people are encountering the issue) and pay via your preferred browser instead of inside of Galaxy itself.
