I have all of the platforms linked, dozens of friends in my lists and 2.0 hasn't found anyone to suggest. Does that mean my friends are just lames that don't use GOG? I've honestly never asked anyone where they get their games from beyond whatever system I added them on.

The recommendation system from external platforms currently works if you have friends on external platforms who have GOG accounts with whom you are not friends.

Or to make it easier:
You are friends with John on Steam. John has a JohnGOG account but you don't know that. You both use GOG Galaxy 2.0 and connected your Steam accounts. each one of you will get mutual recommendation
