There is now a freeware solution to install GOG linux games without going to command line. Synaptic Package Manager now has a program called Minigalaxy. Once installed, login to your account, highlight the game you wish to install and click. You can launch the game from the program once it is installed. It does not include any of the other features our Windows friends get, but it does make installing and launching games easier for newbies to linux.

Thank You so much for this post. In the past I was running the windows version of Galaxy through WINE but it was a bit of a headache every time an update came around. I was so happy to find out about Minigalaxy and was even more overjoyed to find it was in the repository for the distro I use for gaming.
It is an extremely small file I think less than 20 MB so installed super fast. There was also a Flatpack available but I don't use.
When you first run it and log into GOG It only displays only the games that will natively run in Linux so if you don't see all your games just click the menu symbol and go to Preferences. There is an option to "show hidden games" that I had to check. There is also an option to show Windows games.
That should fill the screen with all the games you own using the proper title image for each game. Beneath each game it will either show "play" if installed or "download" if not installed. In addition Windows games will display a tiny Wine glass up in the left hand corner of the image.
Anyway, I selected Download for Battle Brothers, a windows game, and the download started and the game was automatically installed. I started the game as normal and all was fine.
Thanks again for posting about Minigalaxy.
