...as a multiplatform launcher. It's useless. As a GOG launcher, it's... okay.

The central feature, integrations, simply doesn't work in a stable, reliable way. They disconnect all the time. Sometimes, my installed Steam games disappear, sometimes, my owned Steam games disappear, sometimes, my Uplay duplicates disappear, sometimes my Uplay games disappear entirely, etc. Every time I launch GOG Galaxy I can only shrug and see what happens, how many games will show up this time.

Now this isn't some salty "I had two disconnects today and I'm cranky about it" post. This happens daily, multiple times in a space of a few hours and I've been monitoring this situation for months now (since the start of open beta), hoping it would get better. In fact, I had better integration stability right at the start and I didn't understand where all the "my Steam keeps disconnecting" posts were coming from. As of right now, intergrations just don't work.

I want to see this succeed, but for now, I'm just going to disconnect my integrations and treat it as a GOG-only launcher. Which is sad, because "all your games in one place" was basically their thing from day 1.

try playnite if you're looking for a multilauncher that works. forget galaxy2, it's broken beyond repair.
I've disabled the Steam integration and primarily use Galaxy just for GOG stuff now.

+1

This is exactly I was going to suggest.

Playnite seems to be the best and only open source front end left that supports PC games. (and emualtion)

Maybe launchbox might support launching pc games, but I don't like the UI.
I only want to use Galaxy 20 for Gog updating--I run all my Gog games from their executables and so I don't need the launcher function. I don't want/need integration with any other service.
I really like Galaxy 2, no issues here. I don't use it to launch Steam games, but it's great for keeping track of all my non-GOG games.
Guys, a little patience. It is still in beta. Give up on it when it gets out of beta. You are free to judge it then. So far, even in beta, works awesome for me.

Yes, there are bugs, lots of them. But that's why it is beta.

Ciocolici: snip
The problem is that this "beta" was a forced update. There is no official way to revert to 1.2 until 2.0 is out from beta.

And the silence of GOG about critical bugs (such as missing games, stuck downloads and numerous problems with integration of other platforms, which, AS FAR AS I REMEMBER, was promoted as a killer feature of 2.0) makes this situation even worse.

As long as it's NOT being treated as optional, complaints are entirely relevant. Because they're refusing to properly provide access to the non-beta client.

You're both right. They should let people use the stable version, and let the beta be beta.
