Only way I know by now.

In Windows 8 or newer:
1. Click on "Start" to open your Start Menu.
2. Find your game shortcut in the menu. You can search for it by starting to typing its name.
3. Once you find it, right click on it to open its context menu.
4. Click on "More > Open file location" or just "Open file location" if you searched for it.
5. This will lead you to the shortcut's folder. Here you can right click the shortcut to open its context menu and select "Send to... > Desktop".
6. Check your desktop and you should have a brand new shortcut to the game there.

Hopefully, an easier way is implemented, ala Steam style.

In WIndows 10 you can find it in the start menu, right click and Pin To Start then from the pinned link in the start menu just drag it to your desktop.
WHAT?

no such possibility.

The new Gog sucks.
It's been 5 years since this wishlist item was added. WTF GOG? I know that Galaxy is your neglected redheaded stepchild, but at least make it semi-functional.

so true...
I'm going to add myself to the list of users that would like this see implemented.
Galaxy? run verify / repair will generate a new icon for the game... other than that the exact steps depend of which build of Windows, Mac or Linux you use
There is always "Launch (game title).lnk" file in the game directory. I think you can copy-paste it to the desktop.

An only way found is to tick checkbox in game installation dialog.

Only works if those mentioned before checkbox was marked.

And this definitely the hard way to recreate 2KB file rechecking dozens of gigabytes...

Yep, but there's a trick. This is "special" shortcut to run game without Galaxy.

But it can be transformed to Galaxy-aware manually as follows:

Not a solution but a work around I suppose.

I always like to get my installed games shortcuts into a specific game folder so I have everything from GOG/Steam/Battlenet/Independent in one place. When I lost some shortcuts in a tragic copy/paste accident, I managed to go into my GOG game installation directory, search for
"Launch" lnk
Which showed all of the shortcuts for the games I had installed on one file explorer window which I then selected all, copied and pasted into another folder, then used a utility like Bulk Rename to get rid of the "Launch" bit and was able to put all the shortcuts back into my game folder.
