Hi,

I'm having an issues where GOG Galaxy 2.0 won't start. Whenever I attempt to access the application it just won't open but won't give any error messages either.

If I go to the Task Manager I see that the process for GOG Galaxy (32 bit) starts but is immediately closed within 1 second, the process for GalaxyClientService (32 bit) keeps running a bit longer with is also closed after ~20-30 seconds.

I already tried reinstalling the application multiple times, I've also tried running it as administrator and running it withouth AV/Firewall activated but none of that seems to work so far.

I checked the logs and I found this error:

2022-08-22 14:02:56.837 [Warning][ (0)] [TID 20704][galaxy_client]: Exception during sending request to service: Connection refused
2022-08-22 14:02:58.871 [Information][ (0)] [TID 20704][galaxy_client]: Starting service 'GalaxyClientService' asynchronously.
2022-08-22 14:02:58.874 [Error][ (0)] [TID 20704][galaxy_client]: Failed to start service 'GalaxyClientService' asynchronously. Error Message: ServiceController could not open GalaxyClientService. ErrorCode: 1060.

I'm not sure what might happened as it was working fine before, I've already contacted support but I'm waiting to hear from them and in the mean time wanted to check if someone that has had a similar experience and might have an idea what to do.

Thank you,
I have the exact same issue starting today. I also have the same [Warning] [Information][Error] in my "GalaxyInitialization_elevated.log" log file. Nothing happens when I run "GalaxyClient.exe", no errors or anything. I guess it might pop-up in the task manager but it must be faster than my current refresh rate.
---
Update, I turned my task manager refresh rate up and noticed every time I was trying to open gog galaxy it was trying to open up firefox which failed. I never use firefox by itself so I checked and it wasn't opening either so I restarted my PC and now gog galaxy and firefox open fine.

@xboxmaniac90 test your network is actually working first
open a web browser... point it to Gog.com and try signing into your gog account
Same problem here, i noticed this '/deelevated' in my log file after a failed start as below...

"C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\GalaxyClient.exe" /deelevated

So i changed the desktop shortcut target to include this and it started working for me.

you don't have the same problem

/deelevated was added by your system not Gog and it doesn't work because you installed Galaxy to your program files folder

for reference /deelevated is the opposite of /admin/login which is old code modern systems don't like
