Task manager doesn't show any traces of GOG galaxy after acknowledging the message aside from GalaxyClientService. Stopping the service doesn't help.

Before stopping, the service is running (it starts each time I click the shortcut).

There were no other users logged in on the notebook for last year or so. The user list in the task manager only shows me.

%LocalAppData%\GOG.com\Galaxy\Configuration\config.json changed a week ago (May 7, 9:59 UTC+4), and it's the most recently changed file in %LocalAppData%\GOG.com.
The latest change in the GOG Galaxy installation directory is on May 6, it's GOG Galaxy\GPUCache\data_0


I'll try to reinstall now, just reporting in case someone else stumbles upon that.

While GOG Galaxy isn't running, open File Explorer and go to the C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\lock-files folder. If there are any files there, delete them.
Same just happened to me. Deleted the specified lock file and restarted.

First it said it could not update and to manually upgrade.This is v 2.0.40.1 installed and the manual download version is 2.0.0.2 which does not seem to going in the right direction (and is clearly not up to date).

Now its giving me "Sorry, we couldn't load the data, Retry".

I checked the lock folder is now empty on exit having restarted it a few times. Looks like something else is broken.

This is in Win 10 Pro.

I will give it a few days before uninstalling and reinstalling in case it is just a server thing. Any suggestions welcome.

The version of the web installer has nothing to do with the version of the application.

You can find the latest full installer in this JSON file. The latest version is currently 2.0.74.352 for Windows.
