Whenever I try to launc GOG or the installer I get the error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000005)
I just started having the same problem today. Up through yesterday, I would double-click the GOG Galaxy shortcut on my desktop, navigate within GOG Galaxy to "Installed games", then "Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri Planetary Pack" (a favorite game of mine, and then open the original Alpha Centauri (Alien Crossfire not available since the Windows 11 2024H2 update - but that's another story). As of this morning, though, nothing happens when I double-click the GOG Galaxy icon, right-click & select "Open", right-click and select "Run as administrator", or scroll through "All Apps" from the Start button & then click "GOG Galaxy." I was able to open Alpha Centauri by navigating through "This PC" to the file location of the game's executable file within the C: drive, but that is a much more cumbersome method. Since the problem only just started today, after successful access to the GOG Galaxy app for several months, I want to be fairly cautious about not messing things up on my computer. I will try re-downloading the GOG Galaxy app & re-installing it -- and if that doesn't work, it'll be time for a support ticket.
I also have problems with GOG galaxy client in last like 1 year, it works, but not on first try, I have to try several tries, it mostly starts on second try, but then gog galaxy is often slow and I have to completely kill it thru task manager and then launch again and then it works for some time. I tried clean install and it didn't solve it.
I am afraid that I will return back to steam, I like drm free policy, but problematical client is very annoying thing, steam now works like a thunder, I click on it and it launches in few seconds, always, no lags, compare it to other clients.

Maybe I will try to uninstall GOG client and completely delete all remains like it's mentioned here and then I will try to install it to different folder, this often works in case of such problems, it's true that my OS is installed for years, so there can be some mess.

GOG Galaxy doesn't always launch.
I don't know why they haven't fixed this yet.
